Biography

Dr. Susan Musselman received her bachelor’s degree in vocal performance from Western Michigan University, as well as her Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees in vocal performance from The Ohio State University. She also studied at the American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria, as well as completed the K-12 music teaching licensure certification through Ohio State. After 8 years of teaching Opera Workshop and Applied Voice in the music department at Wittenberg University, Susan decided to fulfill a lifelong dream of owning her own music studio. She recently opened Uptown Voice in Marysville, Ohio, which offers voice lessons, piano/general music lessons, and preschool parent/child classes.


In addition to owning and operating Uptown Voice, Susan directs Rainbow of Voices with the Columbus International Children’s Choir. She also serves as soprano section leader at Trinity United Methodist Church in Grandview. Most recently, Miss Susan taught music classes during summer camp at Trinity Lutheran School in Marysville.


An accomplished singer, Susan has studied and performed in Europe as well as throughout the midwest. She has been active in the Central Ohio music community for 16 years, performing with Opera Columbus, The Lancaster Chorale, the Education and Outreach program with Opera Columbus, and has been a featured soloist with The Columbus Gay Men’s Chorus, the Heisey Wind Ensemble, the OSU Chorale, the Wittenberg Choir, and various area ensembles. Dr. Musselman is currently preparing a solo recital with accompanist, Ed Bak, and is looking forward to sharing her voice with the Marysville community.
